If you’re Italian, love Italy or just great food the 8th annual Taylor Street Italian Festival is the place to be from August 14-17, at Taylor Street and Ashland Ave.
Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood will celebrate its history and heritage in this Italian Festival over the course of four-days. Authentic Italian activities, delectable Italian cuisine, and great live entertainment will highlight this magnifico event!
Now let’s talk about what really matters – food and drinks! The Taylor Street Festa Italiana will put Chicagoans’ appetites to the test, as a meatball eating contest will challenge some of the city’s best amateur competitive eaters. For those of you who have always wanted to take part in the authentic wine making process, now is your chance! Attendees will be able to experience firsthand what it’s like to make wine overseas and will be encouraged to kick off their shoes and participate in a special grape stomping. We’d suggest not wearing too much white!
Say “Ciao” to new neighbors and families while enjoying live entertainment featuring everything from our engaging wine garden, DJs, great rock bands and even live recordings of the popular “Martini in the Morning” program spread across four stages. Kids will love this event too, in fact Chicago Now dubs Festa Italiana as “one of the most kid-friendly festivals out there with tons of rides and games to make any child happy”. Parents and their little ones will be glad they stopped by!
Entry to the event is a suggested $5 donation with proceeds benefiting the University Village Association, a community development organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the Near West Side Community.
