Fountain Square Art Festival on June 28 & 29

Now celebrating its 35th year, the Fountain Square Art Festival is the largest and oldest fine arts fair on Chicago’s majestic North Shore. Featuring the eclectic works of more than 150 juried artists, this sprawling art showcase epitomizes words like “cosmopolitan” and “sophistication.”

The festival takes place in downtown Evanston, just steps from the eponymous Fountain Square. Perfect for strolling, and a welcome respite for nearby city folks, the festival takes up several blocks and showcases an art mix that includes paintings, sculptures, metalwork, jewelry, glasswork, woodwork, photography, mixed media and more.

Besides the main attraction of world-class art, the Fountain Square Arts Festival offers a vast array of entertainment, including a main music stage that features continuous live jazz. In addition, the festival boasts a vast assortment of the area’s best food.

It also features a popular children’s art tent with fun activities overseen by the acclaimed Evanston Art Center, including art lessons and projects for kids.

The Fountain Square Art Festival will take place on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., at Church Street and Sherman Avenue, in downtown Evanston. Gate donation is $5.
