Learn about Wrigleyville

Origins

Wrigleyville, so named for being the home of Wrigley Field and the Chicago Cubs, is part of Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood. Wrigleyville’s boundaries are Addison St (3600 N) north to Irving Park Rd (4000 N), Halsted St (800 W) west to Racine Ave (1200 W).

The general atmosphere of Wrigleyville is young and vibrant. The Cubs are the north siders’ team of choice and the appeal of walking to a Cubs game and living in the vicinity of the park are mighty. When the Cubs play, the entire neighborhood comes alive in an all-day event where, despite the crowds, the mood is light, the fans are friendly, and the party’s on. The number of food and beverage establishments in the neighborhood is almost overwhelming. And there’s no shortage of things to do within walking distance, including the lakefront, Waveland Park and the Sydney Marovitz public golf course. Wrigleyville is inhabited primarily by young professionals, a student element from nearby DePaul University, and on game day – folks from all parts of the greater Chicago metro area.
