The Lake View neighborhood is one of the larger community areas of Chicago with nearly 100,000 residents. As noted in the name, Lake View is on the lake shore between Diversey Parkway (2800N) and Irving Park Road (4000N), bordering Lincoln Park to the south and the Uptown neighborhood to the north. Lake View runs West to Ravenswood Avenue and Roscoe Village, and it’s safe to say that the farther west you are in Lake View, the more affordable your home is.
Lake View has several sub-neighborhoods with their own unique characteristics. Along the lakefront you’ll find the higher rent apartments and luxury condos of Lakeview East. Boystown is centered around the North Halsted District of Lakeview East and is home to a good portion of Chicago’s gay and lesbian communities. West Lakeview has its own vibe among young professionals and is alternately quiet and casual to active and lively along the Southport Corridor. Wrigleyvilleabounds with nightlife and dining options and is, of course, home to the Chicago Cubs and historic Wrigley field. Diversey and Belmont Harbors are both in the Lake View neighborhood.

Getting around Lake View is a cinch with the CTA Red and Brown lines running through the heart of the neighborhood, as are buses, bikes and readily-available taxis.
