When was the last time you enjoyed a day at the Farmer’s Market near your Chicago home? Through October, you can meander through the aisles in search of the freshest produce in Chicago, whether you are near your condo in Bucktown or office in the Loop. The following list from Explore Chicago details when and where you can find artisan treats and freshly grown fruits and vegetables to delight the inhabitants of your Chicago home. You’ll find everything from freshly baked breads to homemade jams and gorgeous flowers, as well.
If you prefer to visit the Farmer’s Market in the evenings, you can enjoy a special treat in Lincoln Square, near your Ravenswood home until the end of October! Held at the corner of Leland and Lincoln, the evening market begins at 4 p.m. and will run through 8 p.m. or sunset, whichever is earlier until October 25th. There will be no evening market on September 6th, due to the German American Fest, however that doesn’t prevent a crowd gathering that night to enjoy an evening concert.
Sponsored by the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce and Executive Partners of the Chamber, the evening concerts are an exciting way to enjoy your community. Captain Blood Orchestra will be performing classic rock on August 30th from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in Giddings Plaza, located at N. Lincoln and W. Giddings (by the Chicago Brauhaus). On September 6th, you can see reggae band Drop Steady perform from 6:30 to 9 p.m., too. Bring your family and friends who live in Chicago along to help you celebrate the end of summer at these free outdoor concerts. Have a great time!
