Chicago welcomes the Green Festival this weekend, May 14th and 15th, near beautiful Gold Coast homes, at the McCormick Place, located at 2301 South Lakeshore Drive. Numerous events, including a host of workshops centered on composting, conserving, and creating sustainability for your Chicago home, will be taught. The City of Chicago hopes that education and training in these practices will result in a reduction of smog, improved air quality and water conservation and health improvement for those who live in Chicago.
This year brings some changes to the Green Festival. Green Festival is reaching out to businesses and providing tips for business locations to become more sustainable. Also, children are also being included this year with the Kids Green Zone! From adventures with animals to encounters with yoga and vegetables from the farm, this area is sure to be a hit. Special guests Flow the Water Woman and Aqua man will teach children to reduce, reuse and recycle while having a fantastic time. Adults will enjoy the many guest speakers that will be featured at the Green Festival, as well. For a list featuring the top ten speakers, click here.
