Chicago Gourmet, presented by Bon Appétit, is a celebration of food and wine in Millennium Park. Guests enjoy gourmet food, wine, spirits, and beer tastings, live cooking demos, educational seminars, and more. What’s more, the popular Hamburger Hop event kicks off the weekend, the Grand Cru offers participants exclusive tastings of some of the finest wines in the world and tasty bites from award winning chefs, and the Bon Appétit and Chicago Gourmet Dine Around extends the event into some of the area’s best restaurants.
New for 2014 – BBQ Pavilion: This year, they’ve partnered with the Illinois Barbeque Alliance (IBBQA) to bring the first-ever BBQ Pavilion to Chicago Gourmet! Imagine a party with your friends in the city’s biggest backyard – craft beer in hand – chowing down on fare from some of the state’s most iconic BBQ spots, all the while mingling with passionate pit masters, sauce makers, expert ribbers, and more.

Hamburger Hop: Enjoy the juciest burger showdown in town – the Hamburger Hop! Held at the Harris Theater Rooftop on Friday, this event features top area chefs as they do battle in a burger competition while you dine on tasty, gourmet burgers, along with beer, wine, spirits, and more. A celebrity panel of judges determines the city’s Best Burger award, while guests crown the People’s Choice.
Late Night Gourmet: The official after-party of the Hamburger Hop will be held at world-recognized celebrity hotspot, The Underground. The event promises revelry well into the night with late-night bites, tasty libations and music from DJ Rock City. Guests with a coveted ticket will mix and mingle with hundreds of Chicago’s tastemakers and influencers, including Chicago Gourmet chefs, sommeliers, and star mixologists.
A Trotter Tribute Dinner: Chicago Gourmet presents an exclusive, newly added dinner to the 2014 event lineup: A Tribute to Charlie Trotter, presented by American Express. On Saturday, September 27, many of the world’s finest chefs – including many of Chef Trotter’s protégés and dearest friends – will gather at the magnificent Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicagofor a rare, unforgettable dinner to honor the world-renowned culinary legend and his indelible impact on the hospitality industry. The dinner features exceptional wines from Terlato Wines and an elegant, 6-course seated dinner in the hotel’s stunning Grand Ballroom. This marks the first large-scale fundraising event held in Chef Trotter’s hometown and benefits Charlie Trotter’s Culinary Education Foundation.
