Winter lifeChicago is the place to be during the holidays. Lights, entertainment, festivities and townwide traditions will delight you throughout November. Here are a few fun ideas for you and your family (all ages) to consider. We hope you have a great time and enjoy all the amazing opportunities near your Chicago home!

The Museum of Science & Industry – You can celebrate daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. from November 17th through January 8th, except Christmas Day, if you live in Chicago. Located at 57th Street and Lake Shore Drive, you can delight in a gorgeously appointed 45-foot tree along with the annual Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light spectacles. Local choral and dance groups will also perform throughout the holidays for your enjoyment, too.

20th Annual Magnificent Mile Lights Festival – Grand Marshals Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney World will lead the lighted parade along the Magnificent Mile with more than a million lights and a procession of entertainers and even Santa! The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. on November 19th and will conclude with fireworks.

If you enjoy parades, please note that the 78th McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade will step off at 8 a.m. on State Street (from Congress to Randolph) on Thanksgiving Day and the Parade of Lights in East Peoria will be held on November 26th!
