Celebrate Edgewater at the 2015 Edge Fest on August 1-2

2015 Edge Fest

Music, karaoke, food, art, dogs are the essentials of the perfect festival, and what could be better? Now in its fourth year, the 2015 Edge Fest will take over the lakefront in Chicago’s historic Edgewater neighborhood on August 1-2. The 2015 celebration of all things Edgewater will feature flavorsome cuisine, award-winning entertainment, family fun and three-dozen local artists.

Engage all components of your senses, especially your eyes, ears, nose and taste buds – this is not a festival for the tired. Let’s start with what your eyes can be set to see. Forty local Edgewater artists will present an array of pieces. Also, get ready to see a dog costume contest! Pet owners will have the opportunity to put their four legged, tail-waggers at center stage. New this year will be DockDogs, a must-see traveling aquatics dog competition! There will be the chance for neighborhood pooches and their owners to take part, too (performances from 1pm both days).

Prepare your ears for two stages of music as popular acts draw from a variety of musical styles. The music line-up includes headline acts 16 Candles, Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press, Too White Crew and Funkadesi. Unique to Edge Fest is a special karaoke stage, giving festival goers the chance to sing some of their favorites for the North side crowd.

Your nose and taste buds will be infatuated with the sweet smells of summer. Local vendors will offer up an assorted menu that truly has something for everyone. Restaurants from the surrounding area will showcase some of the delicious cuisines in this exclusive neighborhood. Your appetite will be satisfied, to say the least.

Edgewater, as the name would imply, hugs the shores of Lake Michigan some seven miles north of downtown Chicago. Famous for its expansive beaches and sprawling park space, this neighborhood boasts an eclectic mix of urban gains and natural beauty. When strolling through Edgewater, expect to find families, a crowd of illustrious city landmarks, and some of the Midwest’s best antique shopping.

Edgewater is overflowing with authenticity, diversity, and charm. Located along Lake Michigan’s shoreline on the City’s north side, the Chicago neighborhood is home to coffee shops, ice cream parlors, local theatres, comic book stores, charming retail shops, service providers, antique stores, and ethnic restaurants offering global cooking. Explore streets like Granville, Devon, Broadway, Clark, Thorndale, Berwyn, and the historic district of Bryn Mawr, and experience our rich melting pot of cultures. Edgewater also offers great beaches, like Hollywood Beach, Osterman Beach, and Foster Beach. Edgewater is easily accessible by bike or CTA buses and the Red Line.

Proceeds from this community celebration will benefit the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce. Admission is a $5 suggested donation. The mission of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce is to create and support a thriving business environment, contributing to a vibrant Edgewater community. The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce organizes and presents marketing, education, networking, and advocacy programs to increase commercial activity and strengthen existing businesses and Chamber members in the Edgewater community.
