The Randolph Street Market Festival, held on March 28-29, is a European-style, indoor-outdoor urban antique market in the historic West Loop neighborhood features 200 select purveyors of high quality, amazingly priced “finds”, offering unlimited creative inspiration and hours of fun. Shoppers can find furnishings, vintage clothing, jewelry, collectibles, and more.
The Randolph Street Market Festival is held every month, and includes:
- Vinyl Swap Meet: Thousands of collectible records from 45’s to LP’s, jazz to rock and show tunes galore will make you tap your toes and groove down memory lane.
- Fancy Food Market: All types of chocolates, cakes, breads, spices, olive oils, salsa to bring home or enjoy during the event.
- Global Goods Bazaar: Some delightful crafts and artisan goods representative of Chicago’s ethnic neighborhoods.
Fabulous food and drink specialties abound. Come and dine al fresco against the backdrop of the beautiful Chicago skyline!
This is a pet friendly event, however, due to liability issues with the event’s landlord, your pet is only allowed in the outdoor portions of the market. If it’s a super hot day, we highly recommend leaving Fido at home. Also, for insurance purposes no pit bulls or dobermans allowed on the premises.
Onsite services are also available to restore and protect your heirlooms and new market purchases. Services include appraisal service; onsite furniture delivery service; gold buying service; crystal and porcelain repair service; furniture restoration service; art restoration service; and lamp and lighting repair service.
General admission to the festival is $8 at the gate. Children under 12 are admitted for free. Online tickets are available, as well as a number of special promotional packages.
The West Loop is a trend-setting, artistic neighborhood located close to downtown, just west of the Chicago River, between Grand Avenue to the north and the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) and extending west to Ashland Avenue (1600W). Once a commercial warehouse district, the area began to change when artists converted their loft studios to living spaces and galleries.
The West Loop is perhaps one of the most urban residential neighborhoods. As the warehouses were converted and the area began to attract an artsy and edgy crowd, other young professionals took notice and moved in, as did developers who saw the potential in a growing hip neighborhood. The area still has an avant-garde feel and the lofts co-exist with newer construction in all forms, though decidedly urban. Rounding out the neighborhood are art galleries, some retail, top-tier restaurants and a hopping club scene. On the eastern edge of the West Loop is the famed Greektown and its line-up of Greek cuisine.
West Loop real estate includes high- and mid-rise condo developments, as well as single-family homes that have sprung up over the last two decades. West Loop condos start under $200K. West Loop lofts and single-families start at around $500K and can go well over $1 million.
