This sprawling and eclectic arts festival in Evanston features a wildly diverse mix of 350+ artisans, including local vendors and antique dealers. Custer Fair (formerly known as Custer’s Last Stand Festival of the Arts) also features three entertainment stages including music, theatre and interactive performances; a children’s park with activities and entertainment; an Eco-Village green vendor area; and a food corridor on Chicago Avenue with nearly 20 restaurants.
Fun fact: The fair started on Custer Avenue, which was named to commemorate the heroism of Gen. George Armstrong Custer during the Civil War.
