5K For Hunger Near Your South Loop Home

The 26th Annual 5K Hunger Walk will be held this Saturday, June 25th with an 8:15 a.m. Step-Off at Soldier Field, located in the South Loop area of Chicago. This popular walk benefits food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens throughout Cooks County and began as a grassroots effort almost three decades ago to help the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Currently more than 678,000 people who live in Chicago benefit from this fundraiser. The walk begins along the lakefront at Soldier Stadium’s Field and live music will add to the festivities. Activities will also be available for children, making this an event for everyone who lives in your Chicago home. Last year over 6,000 walkers participated, raising more than $500,000. There is no fee to participate and registration can even be done that morning beginning at 7 a.m. To find out more and how you can help, please click here.
