The Loop’s Art Institute of Chicago is offering Chicago residents and visitors complimentary admission now through February 4th. Typically admission is $18 for adults and $12 for children, students and seniors. Every Chicagoan and especially Loop residents need to plan a visit to this landmark. Located in Grant Park, the Art Institute not only houses traditional paintings, but also photographs, architecture, furniture and tapestries.
The Art Institute is located at 111 S. Michigan Avenue. A compilation of one of the largest art collections in the United States, the Art Institute is an all-day adventure. Be sure to check out the Modern Wing, established in 2009. You’ll find fantastic art from Picasso, Matisse, Kandinsky, Brancusi, and even Giacometti. The Art Institute opens daily at 10:30 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Saturday through Wednesday. Extended hours are offered Thursday and Friday evenings, until 8 p.m.
