The 49th Chicago International Film Festival kicks off with an Opening Night Gala on Thursday, October 10th.  Film lovers who live in Chicago’s Loop homes should come to the Chicago Theatre in the Loop.  Red carpet arrivals begin at 6 p.m.  At 7 p.m., award-winning journalist Bill Kurtis will present guests.  The screening of The Immigrant will follow.  The film stars Academy Award-winning actress Marion Cotillard, Joaquin Phoenix, and Jeremy Renner.  James Gray, the director, producer, and writer of the film, will attend the screening.

Don’t miss this state of the art showing of one of the nominees for the Palme d’Or at Cannes.  The Chicago Theatre is a landmark and a legend near Loop homes.  Come for an elegant evening, celebrating films and the opening of the Film Festival.

A reception will follow the film at the Chicago Cultural Center (Preston Bradley Hall), 77 Randolph Street.  Come dressed in business attire for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m.
