The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) will collaborate with the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) for the 10th anniversary of the City of Chicago’s fashion initiative. Fashion Focus CHICago, held on October 4-12, will feature a week of runway shows, neighborhood shopping events and more for the general public – as well as a Look Book Review program for industry professionals with members of the CFDA, DCASE and the Mayor’s Fashion Council.

Latino Fashion Week presents Youth Fashion Day at Block Thirty Seven: Presented by Latino Fashion Week, the Youth Fashion Day at Block Thirty Seven will feature fashion skills workshops for 12- to 19-year-olds, including an AWSUM (Amazing-Wonderful-Super-Unique-Me) Panel, motivational speakers and a Style Wars fashion challenge by (PRO)jectUS. An event highlight will be a performance by the Ángel Quinceañeras dancers with a runway show featuring the latest in style and Quinceañera dresses by celebrity designer Adan Terriquez. Our Fashion, Our Heritage: Haiti Fashion Week Preview: Hitting the Chicago runway for the first time, Haiti Fashion Week will host a runway and selling event with its top designers. The “Our Fashion, Our Heritage” theme will cover 500 years of Haiti’s existence with a modern twist to appeal to a 21st century audience. From the Runway to the Streets; Fall/Winter Runway Makeup Trends Demonstration by Make Up First: Instructors from Chicago’s own makeup artistry vocational school, Make Up First, will present four makeup “looks”, taken from the Runways, and demonstrate how each look can easily be recreated. NEXT Fashion Chicago 2015: This European-style runway spectacular, now in its fourth season, will feature established and emerging designers. Be-You-Tiful Fashion Night Out: Be-You-Tiful Fashion Night Out in the West Town Neighborhood Chicago will present a dynamic evening of fall/winter fashion & beauty trends and tips. ICON Model House beauties will strut the catwalk showcasing M.GO Fashion Company & Dynamic Salon Makeovers. In collaboration with local food and drink partners a tasting hour is included that will be topped off with a desert bar and Swag Beauty Bags. Fashion Forward 2015! Emerging Designer Runway: Fashion Forward 2015! Emerging designer runway showcases hosted by the Fashion Market featuring some of Chicago’s top emerging talent including Rich Casual, Super Tight Apparel, M.H.O.D., Luz Esparza Design, Alecia Denise and E. The Blending of Art, Fashion and Life Shopping Event: Maybe Sunday is a conceptual retail experience featuring contemporary, Chicago-based designer apparel, lifestyle accessories and fine art. Come share a toast with the designers and artists and shop Chicago’s freshest fashions for men and women. Featuring fashion designers include Maybe Sunday, ZachNF, PearNova, and VeggieSomething and artists Jason Guo, McKenzie Thompson, Geoffrey Alan Rhodes, Yuge Zhou, and Joe India.
