Galewood & Montclare

Galewood and Montclare, located on Chicago’s northwest side, nestled between the Metra Milwaukee West District Line tracks and North Avenue and Austin and Harlem Avenues. Wide streets, lined with trees, and homes on large lots, contribute to the sense of community found in Galewood and Montclare. Homes range from Victorian, Colonial, Georgian and Tudor styles, to bungalows and ranches.

Two well-used community parks can be found in the Galewood/Montclare neighborhood, Amundsen and Rutherford-Sayre Park. Amundsen Park has baseball fields, a gym/fitness center, and many walking paths. Rutherford-Sayre Park has a fitness center and scenic trails for skating, jogging, and walking. Ball-playing fields here are well-maintained and residents gather in the summer for free “Movies in the Parks.”
