At this event, Chicago’s best landscapers create displays that home gardeners can emulate to create a yard that will the envy of the whole neighborhood. The 2014 theme for this annual show is Do Green, Do Good, with unique and practical ideas for novice green thumbs through expert gardeners, highlighting the latest plants and ideas from nationally-known designers.

Large or small, front yard, back patio, raised-bed vegetable or balcony – – the inspired show is a visual shopping trip of ideas for transforming any green space into one that’s beautiful, enjoyable and memorable. From activities for kids, how-to instruction for adults and a marketplace filled with garden tools and must-haves, the Chicago Flower & Garden Show offers realistic tips that anyone can learn from, take home and use.

An expanded Kids Activity Garden with programming on plants, bugs, soil and more. The activities are so engaging and fun that kids don’t even realize how much they’re learning. Garden Gourmet’s live stage features famous chefs demonstrating how garden delights can become delectable dishes. The Marketplace is a shoppers’ paradise, with more than 70 vendors offering useful home-and-garden products and flowers for purchase. Tablescapes provide inspiration for whimsical, fun and imaginative entertaining décor indoor and out. Enrich your inner shutterbug through the popular photography competition, presented in a gallery-like setting and honoring photographers both amateur and professional.

The Chicago Flower & Garden Show is happening now through March 23.  Tuesday & Wednesday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m; Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Weekday tickets purchased online, $15; weekday tickets purchased at the Navy Pier Box Office, $17. Weekend tickets purchased online $17; weekend tickets purchased at the Navy Pier Box Office, $19. Children 4-12 years old, $5. Discounts available for groups of 20 or more.
